An Engagement for Accountability Project implemented by Tovwirane organization in Mzimba has exposed irregularities in the implementation of constituency development Fund projects.
Meanwhile some funded projects cannot be traced on the ground.
Tovwirane organization program Manager Janet Ntoso some of the funded projects worth millions of Kwachas are non-existent on the ground.
Some of these projects include school blocks, teacher’s houses and bridges in a number of constituencies in the district.
However, Mmbelwa district council director of planning and development Precious Kantsitsi said this may be due communities’ diverting materials meant for the said projects to other projects in the same areas.
