Police in Kasungu are keeping in custody 22 people for allegedly using uncertified scales and failing to comply with government set price on farm produce.

Kasungu Police Spokesperson Edna Mzingwitsa confirmed of the arrest.

According to Mzingwitsa, the suspects were arrested following a sweeping exercise done by the police within Kasungu Municipality and other trading centers.

Mzingwitsa has since indicated that the suspects will soon appear before courts to answer charges of using unsized scale contrary to section 17 and 24 of weights and measures act and failing to comply with government set price on farm produce.
