The Malawi Police Service has engaged an Extra gear in fighting sexual Gender Based Violence [GBV] currently rampant in public schools.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Alex Simenti, who is also Deputy Director for Community policing has confirmed of the development.

Simenti said that they want to eliminate the malpractice by using suggestion boxes where they will be getting tips on sexual related gender based violence.

Simenti has disclosed this today.

Meanwhile Malawi Police Services is currently building the capacity of police officers in Nsanje under Spotlight Initiative, with a call to the law enforcers to execute their duties diligently.

Deputy Director for Child Affairs in the Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare Justin Hamera said that the country is making headway in fighting the vice as people are now coming in the open to report sexual abuses.
