Malawi’s headline inflation rate (year-on-year) for March 2021 increased by 1.1 percentage points to 9.4 percent from 8.3 percent the previous month, according to published figures by the National Statistical Office (NSO).

During the month under review, food inflation rate was recorded at 11.7 percent while the non-food inflation rate stood at 6.9 percent. As compared to the same period the previous year, inflation stood at 9.8 percent.
