Vice President Dr.Saulos Chilima on Thursday made an emergency visit at the bridge that has been watched away in Karonga.
The bridge collapsed last night due to flooding of the river, following heavy rains.
According to reports,three people believed to be officials from the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and Immigration department are reported dead.
Chilima was welcomed at the place by Paramount Chief Kyungu and officials from MRA and Immigration.
Deputy minister of Transport and Public Works Nancy Mdooka was also present at the scene.
