Police in Blantyre have arrested seven people and recovered 15 National Registration Bureau (NRB) branded Accer laptops that were stolen in Ntcheu some weeks ago.
National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed in a statement seen by this publication.
According to Kadadzera, the arrests followed an intensive underground intelligence collection by the police detectives following a break-in at the Ntcheu NRB Office on March 24, 2021, where 18 laptops and two tablets were stolen.
Of the seven arrested, four are suspected robbers while three are buyers of the stolen laptops.
Meanwhile, the police continue to warn people against purchasing questionable items suspected to have been stolen.
He then reminded Malawians that buying a stolen item is an offence.
Kadadzera assured the public that efforts are being made to recover the remaining three laptops and two tablets.
