Reports reaching this publication are indicating that Nyasatimes Chief Editor Thom Chiumia has been sentenced to 10 year Imprisonment with hard labor for rape in United Kingdom (UK).
Chiumia was arrested in 2017 on the allegations that he raped a 17 year old girl who was working at Chiumia’s home as a nanny.
According to sources, on the fateful day, Chiumia and his Zambian wife had left their home to attend an award ceremony.
He couple then asked the 17 year old girl to take care of their two children who stayed at home.
Chiumia however sneaked back at home while the awards were in session leaving his wife behind at the awards ceremony.
At home, Chiumia found the girl and forced himself on her.
The judgment has been given by Leeds magistrate court in UK.
