An argument over who had been to the south of the red line degenerated into a brutal fight which led to a 22-year-old man being stabbed in the thigh at a village in Omusati region.
Omusati regional commander commissioner Titus Shikongo said the man was stabbed with a knife by his cousin while preparing to cook fish at around 01h00 on Saturday.
According to Shikongo, the incident took place at Omufituwanauyala village in Anamulenge constituency.
After the stabbing, the suspect allegedly told a third cousin who had left him and the victim at the cooking area that he was going to commit suicide.
By that time Shikongo said, the victim was bleeding profusely.
He was then taken to Outapi District Hospital where he was declared dead upon arrival, Shikongo added.
Police identified the deceased as Fillemon Usko Ndeshimona. His next of kin have been informed of his death and a 38 year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
