The Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Zomba has adjourned to May 21, 2021 a case in which Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioner, Linda Kunje and her driver, Jones Tewesa are accused of blocking President Lazarus Chakwera’s convoy.

During a cross examination by the defence lawyer to the fourth State Witness, Stanley Mwale, who is Presidential Traffic Operations Officer, people were asked to go out of the court as his answers according to him were related to the presidential personal security.

State brought to court three police escort vehicles on the presidential convoy to demonstrate how Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) commissioner Linda Kunje blocked President Lazarus Chakwera’s motorcade last year.
