Some Indian expatriate workers at the Salima Sugar Company are in isolation after a preliminary test showed some of them are Covid-19 positive.
Company Secretary, Charles Thupi, confirmed the expatriates came from India a week ago and eleven are positive but are yet to take a more precise test.
Thupi says the company has the workers welfare at heart and is putting in place all necessary measures to ensure their safety.
However data on new update of Covid-19 in Salima shows the district has registered 16 new cases all from Salima Sugar company.
