Dowa police station has re-arrested a 42- year-old-man for allegedly attempting to sodomize another suspect while in a police cell Dowa police spokesperson Sub-inspector Gladson M’bumpha has confirmed.
Sub-inspector M’bumpha has identified the suspect as Tsoka Baloni.
Joseph Banda, the State prosecutor in the case bordering sexual intercourse between close blood relatives which Baloni is answering told the court that the suspect was three days ago taken to Mponela Police station from Maula prison for the prosecution at Mponela magistrate court after being remanded in 2017.
The suspect has since pleaded guilty to the charge arguing that he had attempted to commit the offense because he had stayed long in custody without having sex upon appearing before First Grade Magistrate, Amran Phiri, today April, 28.
The suspect hails from Phaninga village TA Dzoole in Dowa,
