Man Fined K600, 000 For Causing Death Due To Reckless Driving

Court in Dowa has fined a 27 year old man driver Aman Kalidozo K600, 000 for causing death by reckless driving.
Dowa First Grade Magistrate Court heard that on April 7, 2021a speeding vehicle driven by Kalidozo hit two pedestrians Happy Kalinda, 33, and Petro, 21 who were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Magistrate Amran Phiri ordered that the fine will be given to families of the two deceased as compensation with each getting K300, 000.
Kalidozo has since paid the fine.
He comes from Johnson Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kanduku in Mwanza.
