The Chinese government has today donated assorted anti-riot gear and tents worth over K200 million to the Malawi Police Service.
The donation is aimed at helping Police Service to curb crime and provide quality policing in the country.
The donated items include binoculars, gas masks, handcuffs, bulletproof vests, shields, helmets, leg and arm amours, shock baton sticks, and 300 tents.
Minister of Homeland Security Richard Chimwendo Banda who was in the company of Deputy Inspector General of Police responsible for administration Merlyne Yolamu received the equipment from Chinese ambassador Liu Hongyang.
