Unknown thugs have attacked and killed a businessman Aniz Ammad Kali at BCA Hill in Blantyre.

National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to the police statement, the attack happened on Tuesday evening.

“The Malawi Police Service (MPS) warns the general public, especially business persons, against keeping large sums of money in shops or homes.

“The MPS rather advises business persons to keep their proceeds in a commercial bank to avoid attacks from criminals,” reads in part the statement.

He added: “A case at hand occurred at BCA Hill in Blantyre in the evening of Tuesday, May 4, 2021. A businessman, Aniz Ammad Kali, was attacked and robbed of his huge sums of money he was taking home from his shop.

“Ammad Kali was also seriously injured in the attack. He died at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital whilst receiving treatment.”

Meanwhile law enforcers have launched a manhunt for the suspected armed thugs.
