Newly appointed Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General George Kasakula has assured Malawians that the state funded broadcaster will change its operations.
Malawians have been expressing dissatisfaction with how the public broadcaster discharge its duties as it accused of favoring the ruling party.
Confirming his appointment as the new Director General for MBC, Kasakula said he is aware of that a lot of Malawians are not happy with the way MBC has been discharging its duties.
Minister of Information Gospel Kazako has also promising the populace that Tonse Alliance will not allow any form of mediocrity at the public broadcaster but to ensure that it is serving for the interest of Malawians.
So as the President, Lazarus Chakwera together with his vice Saulos Chilima have been calling for the independence of MBC.
Until his time of appointment by MBC Board of Directors on Wednesday, Kasakula was the Editor in Chief at Times Group.
He is replacing Aubrey Sumbuleta who is accused of sexual harassment.
