A 24-year-old man has died after falling from the top of Nansadi railway bridge in Thyolo.
According to Limbe police spokes person inspector Patrick Mussa the man has been identified as Robert Madeya from Bokosi village in the area of Traditional Authority Bvumbwe in Thyolo, met his fate on Friday May 7, as he tried to cross the bridge on his way home from a drinking joint.
The prior to the incident, Robert was seen drinking beer at a certain joint at Nansadi Trading Centre in the tea growing district.
The publicist continued by saying that on his way back home, while holding his bicycle as he tried to cross the said bridge, he fell from the bridge into the river
Upon receipt of the news, officers from Mikolongwe Police Unit rushed to the scene and found Robert in a pool of blood.
He was taken to Chisoka Health Centre where he pronounced dead upon arrival, and postmortem conducted showed that death was due head injuries.
