Chairperson for the Public Appointments Committee (PAC) Joyce Chitsulo says she, an individual member, wished Martha Chizuma was confirmed as director-general of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Chitsulo was commenting after PAC rejected Chizuma to head the graft busting body.
Chitsulo told NationOnline that Chizuma has performed impressively as Ombudsman, the more reason PAC renewed her contract.
“I respect Hon. Chizuma and I regard her highly. For your own information, it was the same committee that appointed her as Ombudsman and it is the same committee that has renewed her contract looking at the way she is performing. That lady has really performed very well and for me personally, I wish she is ACB director,” said Chitsulo.
Chitsulo said for someone to be confirmed they have to score 17 out of 25 and Chizuma got an average rate of 14.
