Ex-Soldiers Charity Organization (Esco) Malawi, which is made up of people who once served in the Army and still value family ties of the military, has raised K439,000 to help one retired Soldier, Matate Msambo, who is sick in Blantyre’s Bangwe Township.
Acting spokesperson for the group, Retired Staff Sergeant Victor Lipenga said Esco shall continue the responsibility of saving one another with whatever they can manage to source from within or from well-wishers.
He called for support towards the noble cause, especially in looking into ways that would improve the welfare of ex-soldiers.
“This Charitable organization has been established to provide assistance to ex-soldiers and their families, especially those who need support due to poverty, sickness, disability, accident, infirmity or other adversity,” Lipenga said.
