The Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to re-submit the name of Ombudsman Martha Chizuma to Public Appointment Committee (PAC) of Parliament for the post of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General.
The call follows a move by PAC to reject Chizuma during the interview held at parliament building on Tuesday.
The move has raised eyebrows with members of the committee accusing each other of playing double standard on the matter.
In a statement released on Tuesday signed by HRDC Chairperson Gift Trapance, the grouping has asked Chakwera to re-submit Chizuma’s name.
