Generation trials conducted on the new plant have revealed that the plant has managed to generate 19.1 megawatts of electricity, according to EGENCO.
The project which started in July 2018 is expected to help ease the country’s power challenges as it will increase the national power capacity.
Currently, Malawi has a power generation capacity of 439 megawatts.
