TakenoLab technology a school which is teaching communities on how to develop soft ware professionally and provide with different technology platform has opened its new center at Dzaleka refugee camp in Dowa district on Saturday.

Speaking During the opening of the new center the Founder and Director of TakenoLab Remy Gawaya said, the aim of the school is to provide courses such as digital literacy ,computer programmer in various languages (Python ,PHP, Java, Java script) Android and entrepreneur.

‘’Our school is providing digital literacy and security to 100 students at Ndunje changaluwe secondary school and chibwata primary school which will be our next school and am encouraging the youth that there is still hope for the future even if they don’t have an idea a bout technology.” said Gawaye.

Gawaye further said, TakenoLab technologies provide free courses which allow everyone from different cultural back ground to attend on both Malawians and refugees including empowering women who have dropped out from school for what ever reasons so that they can still have knowledge of business.

Emmanuel Phiri one of the beneficiary at TakenoLab technologies said, the coming of this school has helped him to advance skills in computer programming for free which he could not do on his own.

The center has been supported by the Government of Malawi, Southem New Hampshire and PPPC trough world bank andTakenolab opened its doors in 2015 and was established for the benefit of both Malawians and refugees. It is run by refugees joining together with the host community. The school has trained over 2000 students.
