Limbe Magistrate Court in the City of Blantyre is this afternoon set to give its ruling on whether or not a Dutch national accused of human trafficking and sexual abuse has a case to answer.

Wim Akster is suspected to have trafficked and sexually abused Malawian children.

He was arrested in April last year for allegedly molesting three girls and three boys.

The survivors are said to have been beneficiaries of scholarships and bursaries offered by the Timotheos Foundation where Akster was working as the Finance Director.

Various rights groups petitioned the government through the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) asking that it intervenes in prosecuting the accused on grounds that the case has stalled.
