As the June 29 Nkhata-Bay Central Constituency re-run poll heats up, voters that registered during the 2019 parliamentary election in the constituency have started verifying their names in the voters register.

As per the MEC calendar, the verification exercise which has started today Wednesday May 26th will run up to 8th June.

The re-run is taking place following a Supreme Court’s nullification of the constituency’s 2019 parliamentary results.

The election will take place alongside those in Nsanje Lalanje and Blantyre north Chikwembere wards.

MEC Commissioner Dr. Anthony Mukumbwa is visiting some of the 19 polling centers in Nkhatabay Central to check the process.
