President Lazarus Chakwera has left for Maputo, Mozambique to attend the Extraordinary Double Troika Summit of the Southern African Development Community (Sadc) to be held today.
Chakwera left the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe.
Speaking before departure, Chakwera said the summit will discuss the insecurity in the region, particularly in Mozambique, adding that it is crucial that Malawi participates to ensure that it is not a weakling in the region on matters of security.
Chakwera is expected to return this evening.
