A woman from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad has accused her husband of biting, abusing and thrashing her over a petty issue.
Nidhi Thakor (21) of the Vastrapur area, in her complaint to the local police, stated that she met Ranjit Thakor through social media. They fell in love with each other and graduated towards tying the knot. On January 7 this year, they solemnised their marriage under the Special Marriage Act. Thereafter, Nidhi began living with Ranjit at his house in Memnagar locality.
Nidhi said that on Friday, she went to stay at the house of her mother. Ranjit arrived there with his friend, identified as Dhaval Parekh, to take her back. “When Parekh was driving, Ranjit, who was allegedly drunk, began abusing Nidhi over some frivolous issue. Nidhi told him not to abuse her and keep calm. But this did not go well with him, and he suddenly applied hand brakes,” a report published by The Times of India stated.
Thereafter, Ranjit sat next to Nidhi who was settled in the rear seat. He allegedly started hitting her, and when she opposed him, he bit her on the right hand. The act left her fingers bleeding. She alighted from the car and dialled the police. Ranjit then gave her death threats and fled the spot. Nidhi later approached the police with her complaint against him.
