The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) is engaging the Malawi Police Service in the transfer of its corrupt officers without punishing them.

According to the leaked internal memo from the Malawi Police Service (MPS), 8 officers who have been transferred include 6 traffic officers and 2 CID officers who were allegedly found collecting bribes.

The development has since raised eyebrows with people arguing that the implicated officers are supposed to face long arm of the law like any other corruption suspect.

However, HRDC National Coordinator Luke Tembo faults police authorities for failing to bring the corrupt officers to book.
