Officials in the department of forestry are highlighting landscape restoration as a key component in the regeneration of degraded land in the country.

The department has set its sights on restoring some 4.5 million hectares of degraded landscapes by 2030.

Chief Forestry Officer, Titus Zulu has explained that efforts are already underway to achieve the commitment.

In a drive to achieve the pledge, the department is inspiring key stakeholders to play their role with regard to the 2017 National Forest Landscape Restoration Strategy.
