KUNJE, MANTHANGA NOT DULY APPOINTED, COURT RULES

The High Court in Lilongwe has ruled that Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioners appointed by former President Peter Mutharika were not duly appointed.
Judge Kenyatta Nyirenda is reading a ruling in a case where Malawi Congress Party sued the President for appointing the commissioners.
Kenyatta says the law compelled the President to appoint 3 commissioners each from MCP and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) but he appointed 4 from DPP and 2 from MCP.
