Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe is presiding over the opening of Hortinet Food Limited Tissue Culture Laboratory in Lilongwe.
Earlier in the day, he toured Nature’s Gift farm where there is banana farming.
Nature’s Gift Managing Director, Guy Pickering, said banana farming is one of the ventures farmers can invest in.
He said banana farming is a long term investment but is worth taking.
Pickering said all what farmers need to do is learn and have enough information.
According to Senior Group Village Headman Malembe has confirmed the development.
Malembe said that Hortinet Food Limited started a long time ago in the area of senior Chief Chitukula.
He further add that people surrounding the farm have benefitted a lot.
