President Lazarus Chakwera says Malawians should have confidence that the country has soldiers that are not only well disciplined but are also properly trained.

Chakwera, who is also the Commander-In-Chief for the Malawi Defence Force spoke after visiting Luwawa forest field training exercise for recruit and officer commanders for the MDF earlier today.

He said Malawian troops are always held high even in foreign missions like the DRC and that as their Commander, he felt it necessary to render his support by appreciating their work.

Chakwera is the first president to visit the military training ground for Malawian troops.

Luwawa forest reserve field training base is one of the sites where troops undergo the final lessons in their military training.
