Police in Karonga are keeping in custody a 60 year old man for defiling his 10 year old biological daughter.
The suspect has been identified as Tamya Phiri from Peter Mwangalaba village in Karonga district.
On the said day, it is said the mother of the victim (wife to the suspect) left home and went to look for relish.
On her return, she found her husband (suspect) having canal knowledge of the victim.
Shocked with what she had seen, she informed her neighbours who advised her to report the matter to police.
The matter was reported at Karonga Police Station and upon receiving the complaint a follow up was made and the suspect was arrested.
The suspect will soon appear before court.
