Supreme Court rejects Mpinganjira’s application

The Supreme Court of Appeal has rejected an application by well-known businessman Thom Mpinganjira to stay his attempted judge bribery case.
Delivering his ruling after hearing arguments from both sides Justice
Rezine Mzimakanda said he has not seen a reason to grant the stay order.
Mzimakanda has ordered that trial should proceed in the High Court.
The development means Mpinganjira’s case will resume this afternoon at the High Court in Blantyre.
