A 17-year-old primary school boy, Manuel Harry, died yesterday while five others sustained injuries after being hit by a motorcycle, whose rider got seriously injured.
Mulanje Police Public Relations Officer, Gresham Ngwira, said the motorcyclist, who is yet to be identified, was riding an unregistered motorcycle from Chinakanaka Trading Centre heading towards Msikawanjala along Chinakanaka/Msikawanjala road.
Upon arrival near Khaya Primary School, he lost control of his motorcycle due to speeding and swerved to the extreme offside where he hit the six, who were walking towards the trading centre.
Due to the impact, Harry had nose bleeding, swollen right eye, leg and head while the rider sustained facial bruises and became unconscious.
Harry came from Sayenda Village, Senior Chief Chikumbu in Mulanje District.
