The administration of the first and second dose of the AstraZeneca Covid19 vaccine will be running concurrently in all vaccination centres.
Health authorities have revealed this following the rolling out of the second dose yesterday.
Malawi rolled out her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in March this year.
So far, about 360 thousand people have received the jab from the 512,000 doses that had been procured.
According to the Immunisation Programmes Manager in the Ministry of Health Mike Chisema confirmed the development.
Chisema said that those going for the second does only need to produce their vaccination cards while those going for the first jab can just indicate so.
The World Health Organisation-WHO confirms that the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine in two-doses is more effective under a 12-week minimum interval.
