In a horrifying incident, a 40-year-old man in Rajasthan’s Kota district allegedly brutally murdered his 35-year-old wife by attacking her with an axe. He later dragged her body for around 70 to 80 metres on the road, sparking panic in the area. The couple’s infant son also sustained injuries in the appalling attack and succumbed at a medical facility, where he was rushed for treatment.
As per reports, Pintu alias Sunil Valmiki, a resident of Bhatapada area in Kota, got married to Seema around 15 years ago. The couple had two sons, one aged nine years and the other nine months. On Tuesday, an argument flared up between the couple, following which Valmiki hacked Seema to death with an axe. Their infant child got injured in the incident.
Thereafter, Valmiki dragged Seema’s body for nearly 70 to 80 metres on the road, harbouring terror in the locality. When local residents rushed out of their homes, he abandoned the body at a place. Later, he surrendered at the Rampura police station, according to a report by The Times of India.
The police retrieved the victim’s body for postmortem examination. Meanwhile, the couple’s nine-month-old son was dashed to a hospital for treatment. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
“According to the police, the couple was not on good terms for the last few years and the woman was at her brother’s house on Tuesday afternoon when her husband reached there and brought his wife and the younger son with him to his house in Bhatapada,” the report published by TOI stated.
Kota city SP Vikas Pathak said the accused has been arrested for killing his wife and toddler son. The arrestee has a criminal background with as many as five cases filed against him under IPC sections for assault and rape and relevant sections of the Excise Act and the Arms Act.
