Nurses and midwives at Mulanje District hospital have extended by 2 days their ultimatum for the district health office and hospital management to address their grievances.
In their petition dated 26 May 2021, the medics gave the DHO 7 days for the authorities to resolve the matter, but nothing seems to have been done till its expiry on Wednesday.
According to one of the aggrieved health workers, the hospital’s cafetiere has been providing them with poorly prepared meals that do not meet the required standards.
They have since warned that they will withdraw their services should the authorities fail to meet their demands by today, Friday.
