Chakwera set to commission Tedzani Power Station

President Lazarus Chakwera is set to commission a 19 Megawatt hydro power plant at Tedzani Power Station in Blantyre.
The $60 million Tedzani IV project will increase the power station’s power generation capacity to 121MW from 102MW.
It will also increase the company’s electricity generation capacity to 441.55 MW.
The Tedzani IV Power Plant was built with a $52 million grant from the Japanese Government through the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (Jica) with Egenco contributing $4.8million (MK6.5billion).
