The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has stopped the National Oil Company of Malawi (Nocma) from proceeding to award fuel importation contracts to three firms, namely; Lake Oil, Dalbit and Camel Oil.

ACB Director spokesperson Egrita Ndala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

The development follows rumours that politicians are interfering with the whole procurement process.

The National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA), has been going through endless fights with the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA), over the fuel supply contracts, a wrangle which is threatening fuel
crisis in the country.
