As fears of a third wave of the covid-19 continue to grip the country, Catholic Health Commission of the Mzuzu Diocese has made available medical supplies and equipment worth K 70 million towards containing the pandemic if hospitals under Mzimba North are hit.
The equipment which includes bed linen, beds and oxygen concentrators among others, will be distributed to eight health facilities.
The Commission with support from the European Union through Catholic Relief Services is implementing covid-19 response programs in the district.
The hospitals which are expected to benefit from the donation include ;Mzuzu central hospital, Mzimba north, Ekwendeni, Kamwe, Bwengu, Pidro Pio, Mpherembe and Ekwendeni.
