Chiefs in Dedza have raised concern that a programme of disbursing five thousand kwacha each to learners in 41 primary schools in the district after the school feeding programme was suspended is being abused.
The Chiefs said that some deserving learners are being omitted on beneficiary list and replaced with those that are not eligible.
District school health nutrition Coordinator Macdavix Kadya has confirmed the development.
Kadya said that the school feeding programme was suspended due to COVID-19 hence providing cash and some names of learners miss out due to technical errors and failure by some guardians to submit details.
