Concerned people gathering at Khonjeni turn off in Thyolo where they are due to hold demonstrations over land inequalities.
The Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives – (CDEDI )organized the demos in a bid to push government to act on land related issues in the district.
The people of Thyolo have for so long been fighting for land with Tea and Macadamia Estate owners.
The people claim the Estates owners took away their ancestral land leaving them with no land to settle and farm.
Earlier, the Thyolo District Council denied( CDEDI) to conduct the demos in the district but the grouping has gone ahead to hold the demos despite the disapproval.
