United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has embarked on a countrywide tour aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2025 general election.
The young Muluzi on Thursday held a meeting with UDF local leaders in Nkhotakota District where a number of issues were discussed.
“It was a pleasure meeting and listening to the local UDF Leadership in Nkhotakota District today. A District where the UDF has a sitting Member of Parliament amongst the five constituencies.
“Many Malawians are facing hard times and I had an opportunity to interact with the local business owners to hear their concerns. As I travel accross the country to meet with party leaders and listen to Malawians, I promise you that we will together build the UDF better and stronger than ever before,” wrote Muluzi on his official facebook page.
Since losing the fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2021 last year, Muluzi who partnered former President Peter Mutharika of Democratic Progressive party (DPP) has been so invisible.
The move resulted in other top officials in the party calling for Muluzi’s replacement, saying Malawians no longer have trust in him.
As this was not enough, UDF President for the South Lance Mbewe resigned from the party.
