President Lazarus Chakwera says he is satisfied with how government has performed in its initial year.
While not listing individual achievements, the President’s Press Secretary, Brian Banda, said the Chakwera-led administration has fulfilled some of the things which the Tonse Alliance promised during campaign.
State House Press officer said this during weekly briefing held at Chikoko-Bay in Mangochi today
Banda said every budget which the Tonse Administration is presenting to Parliament contains one major promise which was made, such that there is a possibility that more will be achieved within his first term.
He however said economy has slowed down due to Covid and targets have not been met.
“But we can’t say nothing has been done,” he said.
Chakwera was sworn in as President on June 28 2020 and he clocks a year in office next Monday.
