A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband after he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair in Hari Nagar area of the national capital. The accused has now been arrested.
The accused assaulted his wife so brutally that her intestines spilled out of her body, police said. The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Pinki. The incident took place when the couple’s three daughters were away from home.
The matter came to light after a man identified as Vijay told police that his younger brother had killed his wife, according to a report in Indian Express.
“Police rushed to the spot and met Vijay, who informed them that he received a call from Harish that he had killed his wife. He also told police that his younger brother was not opening the door and police entered the house after breaking the door open,” the report quoted Urvija Goel DCP (west district) as saying.
Police said the accused Harish was found inside
“The crime forensic team has lifted fingerprints from the crime scene and seized two blood-stained knives, brown tape and two blades,” the report further quoted a police officer as saying.
The accused Harish has been admitted to the hospital and his condition is said to be stable. The DCP said Harish was an alcoholic and had been unemployed for the last few years.
A case of murder has been registered against him at Hari Nagar police station. A police officer said that Harish suspected that his wife was having an affair and that led to an argument between the two.
