A teenage girl in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly shot dead the village head’s husband who had been stalking her.
The man had allegedly been demanding sexual favors from the teenager for the last 2 years. The incident took place on June 20 at the teenager’s house.
The girl alleged that the 50-year-old man had made attempts to outrage her modesty. When the girl resisted the man’s attempts, he allegedly started harassing her and her friend. Reportedly, the man had also molested the teenager’s sister.
Social stigma and fear stopped the teen from narrating her ordeal to anyone. The girl also feared that the accused would harm her family. The girl said, “He was a murder accused and his terror reigns supreme in the area.”
Eventually, the girl and her friend took the decision of killing the accused, The Times of India reported. On June 20, the girl’s mother contacted the village head’s husband and asked him to meet her on the pretext of solving the problems her daughter had been facing.
When the man came to the girl’s house and started talking to her mother, she allegedly shot him with a country-made pistol and fled to Farrukhabad with her friend.
The cops said, “Police on Tuesday managed to arrest her and her friend from Farrukhabad. The country-made pistol which the girl had used to execute the killing was provided by her friend. We recovered the firearm from the girl’s house. ”
SSP Kannauj Prashant Verma said that the accused girl and her friend were booked under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The other associates of the accused were also booked for conspiracy.
