Police in Mzimba have nabbed 48-year-old Mwatola Fyson for allegedly being found with 25 bags of charcoal without a permit at Engalaweni in the district.
It is said that Fyson was nabbed on Sunday at his house where he was keeping the bags of charcoal.
Fyson has been charged with the offence of being found with forest produce without a permit contrary to section 68(1) of the forest amendment act.
The arrest of Fyson follows revelation that the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) will start confiscating Charcoal.
