Former Reserve Bank of Malawi Governor, Dalitso Kabambe, has arrived at the Lilongwe High court where he is expected to be formally charged following his arrest on Monday, June 28.
This follows revelations that he authorized the transfer of K4.5 billion to FDH Banks the night before the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) announced the nullified Fresh Presidential election
His arrest follows a few days after the arrest of three others including former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Henry Mathanga, who is answering similar charges.
It is reported that Kabambe handed himself to Lumbadzi Police.
Speaking to media after his arrest, National Police Public Relations Officer, James Kadadzera could not divulge finer details.
Kadadzera however said the case borders on suspected abuse of office.
