A couple chased and shot an intruder who was allegedly peeping into the bedroom of their 10-year-old daughter in Texas, US.
The man and his wife rushed to their daughter’s bedroom after hearing her scream and found a man gratifying himself outside the window.
The incident took place at around 10 pm Sunday. Harris County police officials said the girl’s father chased the ‘peeping tom’ to a nearby gas station and shot him at least four times with his licensed handgun.
“She looks over at the window and this guy is at her window. He took my daughter’s innocence away,”
A report in Fox News quoted the girl’s mother, who preferred not to be identified, as saying.
As the couple saw the intruder, the man and his wife, both armed with handguns, rushed outside their home at W. Little York in Houston to confront the accused.
The couple ordered the man to lie down until police arrive, but the accused managed to flee to a nearby Valero gas station.
According to police, the woman held the accused at gunpoint as her husband went inside to call the police.
However, the accused later managed to overpower the woman and held her own gun in her direction.
In the meantime, the woman’s husband rushed to her rescue and fired multiple shots at the accused fearing he may kill his wife.
“We didn’t want to shoot this guy. We were waiting for the police to detain him because I am pretty sure that if he did this to my children, he is doing it to a lot of other children out here. We are praying for the suspect and we are also praying for his family,” KPRC-TV quoted the woman as saying.
The accused has been admitted to the hospital in critical but stable condition. The police have not revealed the identity of the accused.
