With an aim to curb long distances among students at Madziabango Community Day Secondary School In Chikwawa, a charity Organization has donated different items to students with  the support from Airtel Malawi.
The organization has donated ten bicycles, ten school bags and notebooks to ten needy students.
Apart from giving out bicycles the project is also aimed at assisting needy learners with school fees.
Colby Mughogho, the Team leader of the Organization, said the project is expected to run for five years in which about One hundred learners from various schools across the country stand to be beneficiaries.
Mughogho, said currently the project is being run on a budget of MK 7 Million.
Meanwhile, Nora Chavura Chirwa, Brand Communications and Community Social Responsibility Manager at Airtel Malawi, said as part of Social Responsibility the company is determined to, among other things sponsor projects aimed at promoting education for all in the country.
On her side, Lita Lamulani, a 17 year old female student who wishes to become a doctor said the donation of the bicycle will go a long way in reducing the distance hence attending classes in time.
Meanwhile, Hosni Zgambo Deputy Head teacher at the School, while commending the gesture said the school which has over 130 students does not have a library and a laboratory something which he said is preventing the students to have quality education.
