Health authorities in Phalombe have condemned attacks on health workers who are administering cervical cancer vaccine.
Angry parents recently stormed Tharu Primary School baying for blood of the workers, accusing them of administering the vaccine to adolescent girls which they claim kills people.
Spokesperson for the district health office, Daniel Chilomo confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Chilomo, the head teacher for the school locked the workers in his office and alerted the police who rescued them.
Meanwhile law enforces are urging Malawi to desist from taking the law into their own hands.
